Guide

How to publish your listing to the App Store and Google Play.

TL;DR. Publishing your store listing means getting your screenshots and metadata into App Store Connect and Google Play Console, in every language, without hand-uploading each one. This guide covers how both consoles work, what you can change without a new build, and how Mokbi publishes the whole listing to both stores for you in one click.

The two consoles, briefly

  • App Store Connect holds your iOS listing. Screenshots and most metadata attach to an app version; you upload per device size and per localization, then submit the version for review.
  • Google Play Console holds your Android listing. Its store-listing assets are more flexible, and many changes go live without shipping a new APK or AAB.

Doing this by hand means uploading the right screenshot sizes to the right device classes, for every language, in two different consoles. It is the slowest, most error-prone part of a launch.

What you can change without a new version

Not every listing change needs an app update, and knowing the difference saves days:

  • Google Play: screenshots, feature graphic, short and full description, and title can be updated on the live listing without a new release.
  • App Store: promotional text can change any time. Screenshots, description and keywords change with a new version submission, though you can prepare them in advance.

The store APIs

Both stores expose APIs so tools can publish for you: the App Store Connect API and the Google Play Developer API. They let an authorised app commit your metadata and screenshots straight into your listing without manual uploads. This is exactly the layer Mokbi automates, so you never touch the upload screens.

How Mokbi publishes for you

Connect your App Store Connect and Google Play accounts once. When your listing is ready, Mokbi pushes the finished screenshots and store text straight to Google Play and stages the App Store version in App Store Connect, in every language, ready for you to submit. No per-device uploads, no copy-pasting metadata locale by locale. Ship an update later and you re-publish the whole thing in a click.
